I rarely write reviews, but this was such a blatant cash-grab, I felt compelled to do so.Before I continue, if you do not have any edition of Rockhounding Utah, get it: It's a nice book.The reason for the one-star review is that there are virtually no updates from the second edition. There are a grand total of two new sites, both next to one another, neither of which are billed as particularly promising. Perhaps four or five photos have been swapped out. And that's it!I figured they had perhaps updated some descriptions or GPS coordinates to justify a new edition, but NOPE. I took out the second edition & had it side-by-side, and it's literally the *same book* for the first 100+ pages until they get to the two new sites. Then after that, it's again--word for word--the same as the second edition. The author mentioned a new essay at the back of the book, but it just repeats basic tips from the Introduction.In case you couldn't tell, I was really disappointed by the purchase because I'd been looking forward to it for weeks/months. Save your money and get the second edition: You're not missing anything. Very little information, especially for a state known for rock hounding. It contains basic, easy to find information and sites, no need to buy this book. Not very helpful. Thought it would have far more information and lesser known sights to explore. Book is very out dated as well.
